California Property and Casualty Insurance Exam Breakdown

pass the property and casualty insurance exam

Are you trying to pass the California Property and Casualty Insurance Exam.  This is in response to a great question we got on our YouTube channel.

California require pre-licensing education so you have to take a course — where I took mine here in GA also required that and I think it set me up for success on both the exam and my career so it does add an additional expense but you will be the better for it.

The good news about California is the pass % for the exam is lower than a lot of states.   You only need a 60% to pass and there are 150 questions so you need to get 90 right.

The state have some breakdown PDFs but only the property one is viewable online, the casualty you have to download so we have included both of them below but if you want to access them online for the latest info, the state link is https://www.insurance.ca.gov/0200-industry/0030-seek-pre-lic/upload/PreLicEduObjPR.pdf for the property one and for casualty you can find it where all of the course outlines are https://www.insurance.ca.gov/0200-industry/0030-seek-pre-lic/prelicensing-educational-objectives.cfm so hopefully that help anyone looking for a state breakdown.  Be sure you grab the ones for property and casualty as they are separate and also grab the ones for ethics.

So a big chunk of any property and casualty exam regardless of state is the basic insurance knowledge.  These are things like parts of the policy, all the definitions and contract law.   These make up about 30% of most exams in property or casualty or combined so be sure that you know them.    We have two videos that really help out all of the basics so I have included them here in this post.

Best of luck on passing the California Property and Casualty exam
